Beautiful cities and town in Iceland captured in June 2024. The architecture of Hallgrímskirkja (Church of Hallgrímur) to the colorful roofs of smaller churches and buildings across the country is very inspiring. The natural setting of these churches in beautiful location is divine!
From the land of Ice and Fire, I was able to capture only Ice during my visit. The Vatnajökull ice cap is the source of multiple glaciers which are close to Jökulsárlón. The ice cave walk is a must do for any enthusiasts and adventure loving folks. I highly recommend talking a glacier walk to experience the beauty of water in its solid phase!
In the land of 10000 waterfalls, every valley is a channel to create beautiful waterfalls from the snow melts. From delicate twisting strings to thin flowing sheets which sway gently in the wind to roaring torrents every one of them is a treat to watch.
A paradise for sea birds, beautiful horses and blanketed purple with an invasive species of lupine (blue bonnets), Iceland is a paradise for photographers. Whale watching is a must in the north fjords where we saw multiple humpback whales and got a glimpse of a blue whale. Beware of the aggressive artic terns which are very territorial and are not afraid to dive bomb on our heads.
Bright light houses to black san beaches and GOT filming locations, Iceland offers a wide rage of opportunities for landscape photographers. Summer is a pain to capture any sunset or sunrise as there is an extremely small window of opportunity. The last picture in this set is the one where sun never set in that location.
